A little bit more about me here at DSM
Hey, I’m Dan — a music producer, artist mentor and songwriter with over 20 years of experience helping artists bring their creative visions to life.
My journey started in the Liverpool indie scene, playing drums and keyboards in bands like Karmer and Garisson through the late ’90s and early 2000s. I later trained at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), where I earned a BA (Hons) in Music and honed my craft in production, songwriting, and engineering.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to produce and co-write music that’s amassed millions of streams, earned international radio play, and featured on networks including BBC, Netflix, Apple TV, and Sky. Along the way, I’ve worked with everyone from emerging singer-songwriters to label-signed artists across the UK, Europe, USA, and Canada. I've worked on artist projects with Sony Music, Warner Chappell Music, Muve Records and Energise Records to name a few.
At DSM, I specialise in working closely with independent artists in the pop, indie-pop, and singer-songwriter spaces — helping them shape their sound, sharpen their strategy, and build momentum with purpose.
Whether we’re co-writing your next single, producing a track from the ground up, or mapping out a smart release plan — my role is to help turn your vision into something real, resonant, and ready for the world.
| Because music isn’t just about sounding good. It’s about feeling understood.
If you’re ready to take your next project seriously — creatively and strategically — I’d love to hear from you.
