Dan Scholes is the music producer and artist mentor at DSM

A little bit more about me here at DSM

I began my journey playing drums and keyboards in acclaimed Liverpool bands Karmer and Garisson from the mid 90s through to 2005. I was also lucky enough to attend Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) where I graduated in 2003 with a BA (Hons) degree in the Performing Arts Music course. It was here that I fine tuned my skills in music production, engineering and songwriting.

For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with music, be it listening, writing, recording or playing. It never fails to astound me, how powerful music is, how it can cross all barriers and bring people together. Its ability to soothe, heal and comfort. It can make us cry, sing, dance, laugh, smile and sometimes all of those things at the same time.

For the last 20 years, I have been extremely grateful to write and produce for many different artists, songwriters, labels and publishers. I have seen songs I've been involved with as producer and songwriter, amass millions of streams and international radio airplay worldwide as well as music being featured in various films and TV shows on networks such as BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC Radio 2, Hulu, Channel 4 and Sky TV.

Some of the artists I work with are at the very start of their careers whilst others are signed to record labels and publishers who already have a firm idea in their heads of where they want to go and what they want to achieve.

So no matter what stage in your career you are at, the magic for me here at DSM, is in being able to play my part in helping you realise your vision as your music producer, artist mentor and if needed, your co-writer too.

If you've got a project that you're ready to start and would like to find out how I can help you, then get in touch today.
